The Quilt Gangsta’s Take on Faith & Fabric Gang

“Where every stitch is a prayer and every sip is grace.”

“Because His Word is perfect… and my coffee powered cutting table creative chaos is just how this Quilt Gangsta rolls.”

Love… this is what God is. He is no less. He gives us His all, all the time, part time is not something he chooses. God is Love. 📖 1 John 4:8 (KJV) Love is the steady, self-giving choice to seek another’s good. Love isn’t something you fall into, it’s something you do. It can be an emotion, or it could be a feeling. Either one is good, but in the end, it is a choice. It’s quiet. It can be seen, it can be felt, but it is still a choice.

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, love is in the air. Let’s chat about what Jesus, Love Quilting all have in common.

Love is like quilting. Neither one can be rushed. Neither one is perfect. Both have their flaws. This is where Christ’s love will come in many ways. You can see this in the stitches of a quilt, in the batting, and in the back. With all of this sewn together, it can wrap you in love, wrap you in His love.

And just like a quilt, love is meant to be used, shared, and loved, Jesus wants us to do the same for him… not folded up and saved for “someday.” That someday to come, it should be done always, from the beginning.

Before we jump into today’s project, let me introduce you to the two outlaws running my sewing room these days, my machines.

🔫 TOGETHER — THEIR COUPLE IDENTITY

“Laura the NV5000 Renegade Stitch Runner & Clyde the VE2300 Renegade Thread Rider”

They’re not just outlaws.

They’re renegades, the kind who don’t follow patterns, don’t follow rules, and definitely don’t follow the manual. They run the needle. They ride the thread, and they leave no seam un‑checked.

Now… on to the project they helped me wrangle today.

This project is built around a heart applique with delicate stitched roses, with love grow stitch by stitch. Each block is made in the hoop, then joined together on your embroidery machine and your sewing machine. It’s a project that will be done in one day for next Saturday Valentines Day.

Go and take a look at this Valentine project from: Designs by JuJu. (I’ll drop the link in the comments).

I stitched it up on my Brother Laura Ashley® NV5000 with a 6×10 hoop, just a humble single‑needle flatbed, but she handled it like the gangsta she is.

Since I didn’t precut my fabric (rookie move), it took me about 5 hours. A seasoned stitch hustler could knock it out faster.

This size needs 5 hooping, then you sew the panels together and add the back and boom, Valentine quilting magic!

Perfect for anyone who wants to say “I love you”

So go out and show the world that you are loved, and that you give love, because it was given to you.

In the end, love and quilting remind us of the same truth: the best things are made slowly, with care, grace, and intention. Every stitch matters. Every choice matter, and just like a quilt, God’s love covers us completely, flaws, seams and all.

🧵 “Take this little thought with you… and meet me back at the cutting table next month.”
